Since 1965, the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) has grown from a single-building campus to a seven-college system that has educated and trained more than three million students. Throughout April and May, Richard Andrew Sharum has embarked on what has been described as “perhaps the most ambitious photography project ever to take place in Dallas.” A larger scale of a project from last year, Observe Dallas 2015 shows photos of everyday people, observed through Sharum’s eyes and lens, in the hopes that those who see the photos will stop, think and observe the beauty in their daily lives.
The Texas Workforce Commission, along with the Dallas County Community College District, has announced a new initiative to help veterans get the training they need to find manufacturing jobs in Dallas. As part of the program, veterans are also invited to participate in the Military 2 Manufacturing Career and Resource Fair, hosted in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Dallas.
