It’s been another banner year for the Dallas College athletics teams.
The Richland men’s soccer team, Brookhaven women’s soccer team and Eastfield volleyball team all won national championships over the weekend.
The Richland men’s team won its sixth straight championship, defeating Mohawk Valley Community College on Sunday in the NJCAA Division III national championship game in Gastonia, North Carolina. The Thunderducks have now won 12 national championships in program history, which is the most in NJCAA Division III history.
The Brookhaven women’s team, meanwhile, clinched its third straight national championship with a 1-0 victory over Delta College on Sunday in Gastonia, North Carolina. It marked the 11th shutout of the season for the Bears, who became just the second program in NJCAA Division III history to win three consecutive championships.
Finally, the Eastfield volleyball team won the national championship by sweeping Century College on Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Eastfield completed a perfect season, going 35-0. It marked the Harvester Bees second national championship in volleyball as they also won it in 2017. Eastfield is now just one of eight programs to win multiple NJCAA Division III championships in volleyball.
