Our checklist can help you develop a timeline for completing your transfer plan. Utilizing these key milestones will ensure a seamless transfer experience and keep you on track.
Transfer Checklist
Identification of Transfer Options: 0-15 Credit Hours Milestones
- Explore Transfer Services to research and select universities aligned with your career pathway.
- Get assistance in choosing the right university major for transfer.
- Learn about available transfer pathways and alignment with current guided pathways.
- Review university catalogs for program degree requirements.
- Attend university transfer fairs.
Develop Transfer Plan: 16-30 Credit Hours Milestones
- Research transfer admissions requirements for university and chosen major.
- Explore financial aid and transfer scholarship options on the university’s website and Dallas College’s Scholarship Resources and Searchable Databases.
- Confirm deadlines and requirements.
- Research university campus visits.
- Attend university transfer fairs.
Update Transfer Plan: 31-45 Credit Hours Milestones
- Research university deadlines.
- Transfer admissions
- Financial aid and transfer scholarships
- Explore application fees, waivers and/or deposits
- Visit transfer universities.
- Tour universities in person or virtually
- Attend university transfer fairs.
Apply for a Transfer Scholarship
- PepsiCo Foundation S.M.I.L.E. Scholarship
- The $25,000 PepsiCo Foundation S.M.I.L.E. Scholarship is for minority students who plan to pursue bachelor’s degrees in business or STEM beginning in Fall 2023. Applications close Feb. 28.
- Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
- The Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship awards $10,000 to students who plan to pursue bachelor’s degrees in engineering or computer science and who demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. Applications close March 31.
- National Scholarship from The Dream.US
- The National Scholarship from The Dream.US awards up to $33,000 to undocumented students or those with DACA status who want to pursue bachelor’s degrees. Students must have fewer than 21 credits before Fall 2023 or have an associate degree and plan to attend a Dream.US partner university. Applications close Feb. 28.
Upcoming Transfer Fairs
Dallas College Career and Transfer Skills Development will host several events in January and February to bring university representatives to all seven campus locations. University representatives from all over the country will be onsite to provide Dallas College students with information on admissions, housing, transfer orientation and more.
