Dallas College’s Eastfield Campus is the proud site of the new Mesquite Natatorium, which officially opens today (Monday, Feb. 12).
The Mesquite Natatorium, formerly known as the aquatic center of Dallas College Eastfield Campus, is a partnership between Dallas College, the City of Mesquite and Mesquite ISD. The 13,580-square foot facility has been expanded and upgraded to meet the growing demands of MISD Athletics and City of Mesquite residents.
Key features of the Mesquite Natatorium include:
- Expanded pool width to accommodate capacity
- Two diving boards for enhanced aquatic experiences
- Eight 25-yard swim lanes and six 25-meter swim lanes
- Pool depth ranging from 3.6 feet to 12.5 feet
- New tile and updated pool finish
- Installation of a competition-ready Myrtha gutter system
- Transparent OpenAire aluminum structure
The transparent OpenAire aluminum structure allows the natatorium to be used year-round regardless of weather conditions. The design also allows the walls and roof to open, providing an outdoor pool experience during good weather.
