The Keepin’ It Real Youth Empowerment Summit will take place from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Richland College.
The one-day youth conference provides teens with real life solutions to everyday problems and builds self-confidence as they prepare to return to school. During the day, each student participates in a series of workshops on topics that directly affect them. Participants will also have the chance to ask questions of their own during a moderated panel discussion.
Teens Reaching Teens Inc. will also provide food, entertainment, backpacks and school supplies along with information, advice and resources from local merchants and community organizations.
The conference schedule includes the following workshops:
- Bullying and Cyber Bullying: What We Need to Know
- Keeping It Real with a Spoken Word Appeal
- Drunk in Love
- College 101
- Youth Village
