Slow Food Garden Serving Mountain View Community

Mountain View College is doing something that no other DCCCD college has done: It’s offering local residents the chance to lease beds in its brand-new community garden. The Slow Food Community Garden offers a much-needed opportunity for residents who lack access to fresh, affordable foods for miles around. Twenty-four of the garden’s beds will be available to the community; the rest of the 40-bed organic garden will be used for student learning and by college faculty and staff. Check out the garden; it’s on the west side of the college, northwest of the S Building; easiest access is on Duncanville Road. The college is at 4849 W. Illinois Ave. in Dallas. See its Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/SlowFoodGardenMVC.
