DCCCD Student Blog Post: Annabell Says Good-Bye for the Fall

Last updated on September 23, 2019

This post is written by Annabell Talavera, a DCCCD student blogger and Mountain View College student.

As a fashion blogger, fashion lover, and aspiring fashion designer, you probably think my life is full of awesome clothes, nice lunches, and 24/7 shopping! Well… let’s clear the air and clarify that it’s most definitely not! However, it would be awesome if it was! Even though I am a blogger, designer, and lover of fashion, I am still just also a normal college kid.

My day goes from attending classes to doing homework, then playing Clash of Clans during my study break… anyone with me? There’s not a day that goes by where I am not doing homework, and truth be told, it kinda sucks! I used to think it was just me that spent their Friday nights doing homework, but it’s not. Most of my friends feel the same way, so I guess it’s just part of the college life. So just hang in there people, it will be worth it in the end!

Until then, I am absorbing all the knowledge I can. Like I have mentioned before in my previous posts, my days consists of both art and fashion design. Before the semester started, I said I would push myself artistically, and in just half a semester, I have already noticed a difference in my artwork. My drawings have improved, and I actually look forward to sketching during my freetime. I’ve learned school is the time to find yourself, to learn different techniques, and see what works and what doesn’t. So far I’ve created a 6-foot-tall in-the-round art sculpture, as well as a soft relief sculpture (which is on display at Mountain View near the performance hall.)

All that to say, I guess this semester has treated me pretty well so far… but it’s not over yet! Sadly, this is my last post for the semester. I hope you enjoyed reading them, and if you want to know more about Dallas fashion, or join me on my road as an artist, you guys are always welcome to check in on my personal blog, AróG.

Thanks for the read once again!
