Think Before You Drink

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. Join Dallas College Health Services & Promotions on Tuesday, April 8 for “Think Before You Drink,” an interactive, hands-on workshop where you will learn about the risks and consequences of drinking and substance use.

Whether taking a prescription from your doctor or having a drink with alcohol, no one plans on developing an addiction. And yet, about 16.5% of the population have a substance use disorder, and 6% of American adults have an alcohol use disorder.

In fact, alcohol is one of the most used drugs and is popular among all ages. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), millions of people ages 12 and older have reported consuming alcohol at some point in their lifetime.

By being educated on the facts, you can make more informed decisions that ultimately reduce the likelihood of negative outcomes such as health problems, injuries or accidents.

Come hang out for a day full of fun activities, games, and hands-on education—all about alcohol awareness. Learn how to make responsible choices, check out vendor booths for community resources, and grab tips to stay safe. Don’t miss this chance to have a good time and get informed!
