Dallas College Participates in Community College Day on Feb. 3

Community College Day is taking place on Feb. 3 at the Texas state Capitol, and Dallas College Student Government Association representatives from all seven campuses are in Austin to advocate on behalf of their follow students!

This event, hosted by the Texas Association of Community Colleges, allows community college students the opportunity to directly engage with their state senators and local representatives. Students will hear from higher education leaders, interact with state leadership and learn how to effectively advocate for education.

Your Student Government Association representatives are joining other Texas community college delegations, making their voices heard at the state level. They’ll share their own stories, advocate for resources that support student success, and demonstrate the impact of community colleges statewide.

Dallas College has long emphasized leadership, civic engagement, and the importance of advocating for equitable access to education. With topics like funding, affordable tuition, and workforce development on the agenda, Dallas College students are ready to speak on the importance of expanding economic opportunities and supporting the needs of Texas’s community college students.

Stay tuned for more details about their experience in Austin!
