In case you missed the news over the summer, Dallas College formed a big-time partnership with three four-year colleges to make transferring easier and faster.
The partnership is called “Dallas Transfer Collaborative.” It includes Dallas College, the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas), Texas A&M University-Commerce and Texas Woman’s University (TWU).
Now, the partnership recently launched “Transfer Central.” Transfer Central is an integrated website that includes all resources and information required to transfer — in one convenient place. This is designed to reduce the number of students who transfer to a university from a two-year public institution and do not receive course credit. In Fall 2022, for instance, there were 13,607 students across Texas impacted by that situation.

- Information about degree planning and the Meta Majors program
- Information about financial aid and available scholarships
- Answers to frequently asked questions
Additionally, you will have access to credit-to-degree technology that will allow you to:
- Quickly and easily see how credits will transfer into degrees at participating institutions
- Compare your progress toward your degree and other similar degrees within an institution
- Help plan which courses to take to maximize transferability into your chosen degree at four-year institutions
The Dallas Transfer Collaborative and Transfer Central is all about you – the student – having a simple and easy platform to access transfer information. In the long run, it will save time and money as well as providing the range of options in terms of academics, degrees, campuses, cultures and more.
