Beginning with the Spring 2025 semester, tuition at Dallas College will increase for all credit students, including by $20 per credit hour for Dallas County residents. The change takes effect when Spring registration opens in October, and later for classes starting Dec. 13, 2024 (the “Wintermester”).
Residency | Old rate | New rate | Increase | Cost for 9 hours | Increase for 9 hours |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dallas County | $79 | $99 | $20 | $891 | $180 |
Out-of-county | $135 | $169 | $34 | $1,521 | $306 |
Out-of-state and international | $200 | $250 | $50 | $2,250 | $450 |
*Average course load is 6-9 student credit hours. For international residents, 12 student credit hours is considered full time.
The adjustment addresses inflation. Base tuition has not changed in 10 years. Dallas College strives to remain one of the most affordable options for a college education.
Dallas College’s value to students:
- Textbooks and course-required supplies are included with tuition, saving students $835 per
academic year. - Dallas College does not charge fees for free student resources such as DART passes, parking, tutoring, wellness services, mental health counseling, emergency aid and food, child care and emergency housing assistance.
- The Department of Education has recently increased Pell Grant awards. While everyone’s financial need and financial aid are unique, students can expect Pell Grants to cover the tuition increase without any additional out-of-pocket expenses. Undocumented Texas residents, eligible to pay the in-county rate, may apply for state financial aid.
