What’s next after Dallas College?
If you plan to continue your education and earn a bachelor’s degree, we’ve just made that process easier. Our new collaboration with Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Woman’s University and University of North Texas-Dallas, known as the Dallas Transfer Collaborative, simplifies the move to a bachelor’s program in multiple fields. You will save time and money by ensuring that all of your Dallas College credits transfer to your four-year degree program.
Dallas College and these institutions will work together on advising and academics and provide coordinated student support services to ensure you succeed. With the first phase of this program, set to begin in the Fall (late August), you will have access to:
- Simplified programs of study (Meta Majors) in fields with growing job opportunities that will require the same lower-level courses.
- A centralized Transfer Hub with resources and information about transferring to these four-year schools. This real-time credit-to-degree technology will allow you to easily see how your credits transfer into degrees as well as your progress.
The first Meta Majors to launch will be pathways to multiple majors in business, education and health sciences. Additional information technology, engineering, mathematics and science Meta Majors will launch next year.
These pathways provide clear academic tracks that flow seamlessly from Dallas College to your university. Even if you change your mind about your major within a Meta Major area (or which school you wish to transfer to), you will be able to easily transfer your credits.
Current students interested in participating in Meta Majors should speak with a success coach. More program information, details on how to participate and the Transfer Hub will be available in late August.
