Eastfield, Richland Advance to World Series

Congratulations to the baseball teams at the Eastfield and Richland campuses for advancing to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III World Series in Auburn, New York.

The road to the World Series started when Richland defeated Eastfield, 17-4, for the district championship on May 19. During the tournament selection show on May 21, it was determined that both Eastfield and Richland would represent Dallas College at the World Series starting on May 25.

In Round 1, both teams earned victories – Richland prevailing, 15-7, over DuPage and Eastfield winning, 7-2, over St. Cloud Tech.

In Round 2, the Dallas College powers met once again, with Richland edging Eastfield, 3-2. Eastfield rebounded in the loser’s bracket with a 10-2 victory over Camp.

In Round 3, Richland fell to top-seeded RCSJ Gloucester, 8-2, while Eastfield outlasted DuPage, 10-9, to advance to the Round 4 loser’s bracket final versus Richland, their third meeting in 10 days. Eastfield advanced to the championship game with a 5-4 thriller over Richland on May 29.

Eastfield then fell in the championship game against RCSJ Gloucester, 18-3.
