The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open, but there are some important updates to the process that will delay students receiving their financial aid award letters from Dallas College.
Here’s the Latest:
Even if you’ve already submitted your FAFSA, Dallas College won’t begin receiving your information from the U.S. Department of Education until mid- to late-March, likely after Spring Break.
Once we receive your information, we’ll need time to review and process all the data we’ve received, which we’ll be doing in batches. That means there will be a delay in awarding financial aid while this happens.
In the meantime, be patient. We won’t be able to provide updates on your specific financial aid application while we’re processing the information. But as soon as we have your financial aid award ready, you’ll hear from us!
The good news: The 2024-2025 FAFSA applies to the upcoming academic year, starting in Fall 2024. So, this delay won’t affect financial aid for your Spring second eight weeks or Summer classes.
Haven’t Filled Out Your FAFSA Yet?
It’s best to submit your FAFSA as soon as possible, so your application will be among the first processed. The sooner you fill out the FAFSA, the sooner you’ll receive your financial aid award!
