Every year, each Dallas College campus celebrates the accomplishments and recognizes the leadership, campus involvement and community engagement of outstanding student leaders at the Student Leader of the Year Ceremony. This year’s event will be held on WebEx on Thursday, April 29, and you’re all invited to attend.
Students who embody the characteristics of Student of the Year are encouraged to apply through their campus Office of Student Life and Engagement during the open application period.
The ceremony began as a tribute to former Student Life directors Sharon Beauchamp from North Lake and David Amidon from Eastfield. Both directors passed away early in their lives, but they embodied the true spirit of servant leadership and commitment to student success.
The two not only exemplified creativity, humor, compassion and love of learning in student leadership, but they also shared it with those around them. The Office of Student Life and Engagement continues to honor them with an annual ceremony for their dedication to students and servant leadership.
