The Spooky Trot Is Going Virtual

We’re right around the corner from the eighth annual Dallas College Spooky Trot, but this year, there’s a twist: it’s completely virtual!

(You know why it’s virtual and we’re all tired of talking about it, so let’s just move onto the fun stuff. Agreed? Agreed.)

You don’t really need an excuse to put on a costume and run around your neighborhood, but we’re going to give you one anyway. This year, the Spooky Trot fun run is a virtual 5K that will raise money for the Dallas College Food Pantries. Here’s how it’s going to work:

  • At any time between Oct. 26 and Oct. 31, go on a run or a walk using whatever tracking app you have (Apple Watch, Fitbit, etc.).
  • Send us a photo of your time by 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. The top three female and male runners and walkers will win a prize.
  • Winners for both best times and best costumes will be announced Nov. 2.

That’s it! Pretty easy, right? If you buy  T-Shirts and or clings when you register, they will be mailed and delivered to the address you provide. We’ll start sending shirts in October, but there’s no guarantee they’ll get to you by Halloween. Participants from separate households must complete individual registrations.

Check out registration fees (you get a special student discount!), break out your best costume and start working on those time trials before you compete in the virtual Spooky Trot! And a big thank you in advance to you for your donation to the Dallas College Food Pantry Fund. Any amount has a significant impact on our students and community.
