Normally around this time of year, college grads like you are celebrating with friends and family at their college’s commencement ceremony. Obviously, that can’t happen right now. So instead, why don’t we all get together for a virtual graduation?
Completing a degree is cause for celebration, and DCCCD staff, faculty and administrators are ready to roll out the virtual red carpet to let you know how proud we are of your accomplishments.
Join us on Saturday, June 13, for Making History 2020, a virtual graduation with keynote speaker Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and “Shark Tank” star.
Please RSVP today to attend and to reserve your free cap and gown, a gift from your DCCCD family. Respond by Friday, May 22, to receive your cap and gown by graduation day.
Amid the COVID-19 global pandemic, not only have you executed an unexpected move to online-only learning, you also excelled. Some of you even told us about it! Many of you finished your courses while simultaneously teaching your children, suffering job loss and/or caring for family members.
The Class of 2020 is special for another reason — you are the last to graduate from the individual colleges that make up DCCCD. As you know, the seven colleges of DCCCD will become Dallas College soon, pending approval from our accrediting agency.
So, put on your party hat! Wear your cap and gown June 13, and continue to share photos and videos through social media. Show off your major milestone. You are a #dcccdGRAD!
Keep up with updates as we get closer to the day. Watch for more details via email, on the graduation website and on social media. Students who completed their programs in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 are eligible to participate.
This may not be the graduation you pictured, but we’ll do all we can to make it memorable, fun and worthy of your accomplishments. Congratulations, Class of 2020! Enjoy your day!
