With winter weather on our horizon, it’s best to stay prepared. One way to do that is by making sure your emergency alert information is up to date.
There will always be a site notice posted on the district and college websites any time inclement weather or other emergencies arise, along with information posted to the district’s and colleges’ social media sites, but you can also stay informed by signing up to receive text or phone notifications in the event of an emergency or campus/location closure.
DCCCD Emergency Alerts
You are enrolled in email notifications through the district’s emergency alert system, RAVE, but you can also opt in for text messages or calls whenever there is a campus or location closure in the district.
View detailed information on the district’s emergency alerts system. We also have instructions for updating your emergency alerts information.
Download the RAVE Guardian App for Added Safety
RAVE Guardian includes information specific to district police activities, as well as the ability to call DCCCD police through the app and receive push notifications in case of a campus closure or an emergency, such as a lockdown.
Finally, the app also includes a virtual escort for users who may be walking to their cars alone and want police to know they arrived safely. When activated, the user’s location is sent to DCCCD police for the duration of its activation, and users can turn it off at any time upon reaching their destination.
You can download the RAVE Guardian app in the Apple App Store or Google Play — just look for the blue shield icon.
