Great news: The Kramp, LeCroy and Muse scholarships are available in myScholarships as online applications for 2017! Applications for these scholarships are due by March 31, 2017, and each one is worth full tuition and textbook costs for up to six consecutive semesters, as well as enormous opportunities for mentorship and personal growth.
Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship
The Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 in honor of Erin Tierney Kramp. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33, Kramp decided to battle it head on, often calling and flying all over the country in search of the best medical specialists. She studied alternative treatment plans and state-of-the-art, sometimes unproven methods throughout her battle. Her tenacity allowed her to set her own course, even with her body shutting down but her mind racing forward.
Never shying away from a challenge, Kramp’s journey led her to become an author and appear on national television. The ETK Encouragement Foundation and the Dallas/Fort Worth Private Equity Forum established the scholarship to help students who exhibit courage and perseverance, and overcome in the face of adversity.
Eligible applicants include high school seniors who will graduate in the spring and current students attending any of DCCCD’s colleges.
LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship
The LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship was established in 1988 by DCCCD Foundation Board Member Mike A. Myers to recognize the late Dr. R. Jan LeCroy, chancellor of the district from 1981-1988. Dr. LeCroy was known for his exemplary leadership in education and in the community. As such, applicant requirements for this scholarship focus on outstanding leadership and strong academic performance, two hallmarks of Dr. LeCroy’s tenure.
Eligible applicants include high school seniors who will graduate in the spring and current students attending any of DCCCD’s colleges.
Muse Scholarship
The Muse Scholarship Program was created by longtime Foundation supporters Lyn and John Muse. The Muse Scholars program recognizes outstanding students who show strong potential to succeed and demonstrate a personal commitment to the community by agreeing to volunteer at least 20 hours of community service or work part time each semester. Scholars must also exhibit a strong sense of purpose, a deep work ethic and clear educational goals. It supports up to the costs incurred by recipients — including tuition and books — that their certification program or degree plan might require. This scholarship is for up to six consecutive semesters.

Okay, but what about DCCCD’s other scholarships?
Never fear! Fall 2017 myScholarships applications should be up and running from March 1-June 1.
