In USA Today’s recent Jobs You Can Get with 2015’s Most In-Demand Degrees article, they discussed some of the year’s most in-demand bachelor’s degrees. Guess what? Nine out of the top ten can be started at a college of DCCCD!
That’s right! A total of 260 employers told the National Association of Colleges and Employers they were primarily looking for graduates with bachelor’s degrees in the following fields:
1 & 2. Degrees in Finance, Accounting
Are you good with numbers and details? If so, a degree in finance might be right up your alley. DCCCD offers finance programs with options in Accounting, Mortgage Banking and Real Estate, all of which are great future career options in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
3. Degrees in Computer Science
The Computer Information Technology programs at DCCCD cover a broad range of skillsets, so be sure to take a look to get an idea of which area you might want to specialize in. The primary career paths available in Computer Information Technology at DCCCD are Networking/Security, PC Support, Programming and Web/Internet Services.
4. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering at DCCCD includes programs like Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Nanotechnology and Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology.) You should also know that DCCCD has a Mechanical Engineering Transfer Compact in place with universities all over Texas, allowing for a seamless transition from one college to the next as you finish your bachelor’s degree.
5. Degrees in Business Administration/Management
DCCCD offers several options for degrees in Business Administration and Management, including specialties like Construction Management, International Business and Trade, Paralegal and the Small Business Academy.
6. Degrees in Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineering has been a hot career field for years, and it doesn’t look like that’s about to change anytime soon! DCCCD has Electrical Engineering transfer agreements in place with the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas A&M that can make your transfer even easier.
7. Degrees in Information Sciences & Systems
Start out in one of our Computer Information Technology programs and then transfer those credits to the information sciences and systems program of your choice.
8. Degrees in Marketing
Business Marketing is a great career path for students interested in learning about why people buy the things they do. You’ll study the process through which goods and services move from concept to customer, from product development through promotional strategy. Or, you can also study Fashion Marketing, where your focus will be on the business side of the fashion industry.
9. Degrees in Logistics/Supply Chain
Logistics technology is about making sure products are transported efficiently and put in the hands of consumers as quickly as possible. The technology is increasingly critical in an economy where now more than ever, time is money and there’s none of either to waste. It’s also one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the U.S., which is how it made it onto this list.
