Curious about what’s been happening on the campuses of DCCCD? We’re here to help, with a round-up of some of the latest stories from around the district.
Brookhaven College
Brookhaven Visual Communications professor Giraud Polite’s exhibition “The Crawfish Circuit: Exploring Southwest Louisiana’s Soundscape” is now on display at the University of Texas at Dallas through Aug. 28. The exhibition features both photographs and a sound installation with the culture of southwest Louisiana as anchor. The exhibition also examines the relationship between music and social welfare and explores the messages between the photographic image, sound and memory.
Cedar Valley College
Cedar Valley’s early college high school partner, Cedar Hill Collegiate High School, recently ranked 76th on Newsweek’s list of 500 of “America’s Top High Schools.” By attending Cedar Hill, students are able to earn dual credit toward an associate degree while finishing high school.
Eastfield College
Former Eastfield President Rodger Pool and his wife Carolyn Pool will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next month. Dr. Pool served the district for 34 years, having also spent time at both Mountain View and Richland colleges.
