The Texas Workforce Commission, along with the Dallas County Community College District, has announced a new initiative to help veterans get the training they need to find manufacturing jobs in Dallas. As part of the program, veterans are also invited to participate in the Military 2 Manufacturing Career and Resource Fair, hosted in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Dallas.

Hiring companies will be recruiting for job openings in some of (but not limited to) the following industries:
- Manufacturing jobs
- Warehouse jobs
- Administrative-clerical jobs
- Customer service jobs
- Hospitality jobs

Scholarship Opportunities for Veterans Interested in IT
Manufacturing jobs not your thing? What about information technology? Scholarship applications (pdf) are currently being accepted for one of 20 AT&T Aspire Nanodegree scholarships for online IT training through College Credit for Heroes. The deadline to apply is June 7.
